Common questions about what LOTL is, who it is for, and how the beta path will work.
Questions
FAQ
Project
What is LOTL?
LOTL is a code analysis workbench. It is being designed to keep a developer’s mental model aligned with the real structure, relationships, and evidence inside a changing codebase.
Product
Is LOTL just a graph viewer?
No. Graphs and diagrams are useful projections, but they are not the product by themselves. LOTL is centered on a typed analytical substrate that can support maps, summaries, flow views, inspectors, tables, and other deterministic views.
Technology
Does LOTL depend on AI?
The trusted core should not depend on an LLM. The intent is to use deterministic analysis, schemas, evidence, and inspectable derivation paths. AI may become useful later as an optional layer for explanation or labeling, but it should not be the source of truth.
Audience
Who is the project for?
LOTL is aimed at developers and technical teams working in codebases where structure, ownership, dependencies, and change consequences are difficult to keep in mind. It is especially relevant when code is changing quickly.
Beta
When will the beta be available?
There is no public release date yet. The first website version exists to explain the project, collect interest once the provider is connected, and give people a way to follow the beta path.
Support
Can I support the project?
Yes. The project will use Ko-fi for personal development support. The link will appear on the site once the Ko-fi page is ready.
